"THE TALK"

a workshop for parents & caregivers

"Sexuality education equips children and young people with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that help them to protect their health, develop respectful social and sexual relationships, make responsible choices and understand and protect the rights of others."  - The World Health Organization Only 22% of parents in the US would prefer that their children learn abstinence-only education. Studies have shown that a Comprehensive Sex Education is the factor in reducing all sorts of undesired outcomes in regards to adolescent sexuality, but where are our kids supposed to receive Comprehensive Sex Ed when it’s not required in our schools? Fortunately, they’ve got you as awesome caregivers(s)…  Research has shown time and again that the best people to talk to adolescents about sex are their parents and the adults in their lives that they know and trust. This reduces STDs and STIs in youths, reduces teen pregnancy, and delays the average first age of intercourse by up to a year. Adolescents who grew up in homes where sex was an open conversation have also been shown to have healthier relationships as adults.  As parents, we work tirelessly to set our children up for visible success. Let’s invest in their future happiness and create an environment for our children where they feel safe, seen, and self-confident moving forward with their growing selves.  You’ll walk away from this workshop with an increased sense of knowledge and an ability and ease to not only have “The Talk” with your child(ren), but how to maintain an open dialogue about sex, relationships, and intimacy throughout their coming years.  Learn to navigate the unknown, untested waters of "THE TALK" with other parents who are in the same boat. It takes a village!  Join us May 1st, from 6-9pm NOTE: Workshop cost is per couple/caregiver duo. Caregivers to all aged kiddos welcome!
